At Fundación HAME, we support a growing number of people so they can strengthen their skills and build a better future within their own communities. One of the initiatives we carry out with this purpose is honey production in Sayaxché, Petén.
The project has become an alternative to migration, giving entrepreneurs the opportunity to generate income and improve the quality of life for their families. More than just working with bees, it represents learning a technical trade that combines knowledge, environmental stewardship, and a productive activity with the potential to contribute to the Guatemalan economy.
Through training and ongoing support, participants learn proper hive management, the use of specialized tools, and the different stages of honey production, from harvesting to filtering and packaging. They also learn how to care for the bees and the importance of maintaining responsible practices with nature.
We support this process through technical assistance, helping each entrepreneur produce high-quality goods and strengthen their skills to achieve greater economic stability. We are proud of the growth of each participant and delighted to see how a productive activity is becoming a path to advancement for more and more people.
